Please help I can't shut down my asus zenbook

I've built computers and I can fix most problems but I have never seen this before. It happens every time I attempt to shut down and prevents me from shutting the laptop down. It's brand new. Please see included picture http://imgur.com/F59IwvL

press & hold the power button for about 8 seconds then it will turn off.
