PLEASEE if someone knows for sure

My mobo has 8+4 pin cpu pins
Now what i got in my Power supply is 2 CPU cables of 8pin each, that cannot be divided into 4+4.
Is it ok to connect 1 cpu cable to 8 pin socket and then connect the second 8 pin cable to a 4 pin socket?
So the first 8 pin cable would cover all 8 pin sockets on the mobo, but the second 8 pin cable would cover only 4 pin on the mobo with the other 4 just not cover any pins because the mobo is only 8+4 and my cables are 8+8

If you don't want those extra 4 pins hanging off on the motherboard like that, you can get an extension cable like this that can simply take 4-pin power directly from the 8-pin:
https://www.moddiy.com/products/Pre...CPU{47}EPS-Power-Extension-Cable-(Black).html

Or you can get an 8-pin extension that can split to 2x 4-pins like this one:
https://www.moddiy.com/products/Pre...-(4%2b4)-Extension-Cable-(Black{47}Blue).html

Or this one:

Many modern CPU's do not really require even an 8 pin to power them if not overclocking so running with just one 8 pin connector is probably OK. But what motherboard, CPU and PSU do you have?

I have z490 Aorus ultra, 10850k and RM850X
hmmm...are you planning on overclocking that beast? I can imagine it would be like a furnace when pushed with an overclock, so it might be a good idea to get a proper connection.

If I understand you right you're saying you only have cables with 8 pin connectors. Check the 8 pin connectors really carefully to see if one doesn't split into two 4 pin segments.

You might also go looking for some other cables for the RM850x. I'm pretty sure my RM650x came with at least one CPU cable that had a 4+4 connector on it. It's OK to connect a 4+4 pin connector to a 4 pin socket, just be sure to use the segment that fits smoothly without forcing. The remaining segment will be left dangling.

Perfectly fine.

Ummm, what is the source of these cables? The Corsair RMx 850 does not come with any solid eight-pin connectors. On the PSU side, yes, but not on the side that connects to the parts.

1 x ATX 24-PIN (20+4)
2 x EPS/ATX12V 8-PIN (4+4)
6 x PCIe 8-PIN (6+2)
10 x SATA (3 SATA)
8 x PERIPHERAL (4-PIN)
1 x FLOPPY DRIVE ADAPTER (4-PIN)
