Please Help I don't know what to do

Hi I have a ASUS M5A97 PLUS AM3+ AMD 970/SB950 SATA 6Gb/s ATX AMD Motherboard and I am wondering how do I connect a monitor to it. It has a serial db9 port so adapting it to vga won't help. This is my first build, so I need to boot up and setup bios can I do that through the graphics card? I would prefer not to return it because I already put the PC together. Just don't have gpu yet.

Yeah, you're going to need your GPU. 1070's have DisplayPort and HDMI.

Okay yeah I saw that and was relieved, but didn't know if I would be able to setup bios from the gpu. is this because my motherboard doesn't have onboard graphics? Which I don't know if it does or not. Is that actually only for the CPU?

Your CPU might not have integrated graphics whichever one you have.
