PLEASE HELP!! I have a relatively new hp desktop computer and I'm stuck in the repair loop.

I am desperate! I am stuck in the repair loop. Log file: C:\WINDOWS\System32\Logfiles\Srt\SrtTrail.txt

I have looked at, at least 20 message boards, most of which require a hard drive format. I can't lose files I have on my computer. Can somebody please, please walk me through this. I have already gone to advanced options and have tried the following:

Exit and continue to Windows 8.1
Troubleshoot: refresh your pc
Troubleshoot: advanced options
Advanced options: system restore - no luck
Advanced options: start up repair- no luck
Advanced options: start up settings: restart-no luck

I don't know what to do from here

they're right to suggest a resinstall, it's the quickest and safest way to get windows to behave at this point. before you format and reinstall you can try for example a linux on cd to backup your data (knoppix?) and copy your personal stuff to a flash drive for example or an external hdd. after you reinstall windows you just put it back.

use a linux drive to backup your data and then reformat the drive inside the pc.
