Hello,
ok , I will try to explain this as best as i can . first my specs are m4a785-m asus board 2 IDE hdds running win 7 32bit 4 gb ram , ati radeon 6770 1gb gfx card , a amd athlon 64 x2 dual core 6000+ 3.01 ghz cpu.
ok now i have a seagate barracuda 500gb sata hdd uh 32 mb cashe on the front of my tower is a really big light that serves as a power light/hdd light its normally a solid green when fired up and turns red when and blinks when the hdd is under load the more load the more solid red it gets is the best way to explain it .
Now whenever i install the sata hdd its green witha little bit of red when powered on i get win installed and all but it will start locking up randomly sometimes when loading windows or in windows or when it does do it and i restart right at the sys boot screen till i shut it off then turn it back on . It will sometimes go into windows for a very long time the light never gets a solid green though, but will still otherwise function normal. I've tried different bios setting and diferent windows, but it seems hardwre related. What coudl b the cause?
My last board did the same thing with a sata drive installed and when i ignored the light it heated up my old PSU till it burned out could it be my PSU? isnt big enough nothing else is connected jus the one sata drive ive tried different sata ports and a different cable but still no luck! any help woudl b great as i would love to use this hdd and ditch the IDE ones ...heh
