Just to confirm, when you put the LAN cable in is there lights on the back of the motherboard that light up? They should be orange and green. Or are the lights off when you insert the LAN cable?
The CMOS is the BIOS's memory. This is how you reset it. I looked up your motherboards manual so this is how it's done. Follow every step
>Remove Power Cable, LAN cable, Monitor cable
>Press power button to discharge capicators
>Remove CMOS battery (the big watch battery in your motherboard)
>Locate CMOS jumper, it is located close to battery. It is two pins protruding vertically from motherboard
>Touch two pins with a screwdriver to make a grounding connection. Do this for 5 seconds
>Put battery back in
Your LAN should work after.
yes there is lights that light up when i plug in the cable the colors are yellow and orange.
Oh so your LAN is working it's just a driver issue. That is strange because Windows should have installed proper driver automatically.
Download LAN drivers from MSI website here. Just choose your operating systems and select LAN drivers
https://ca.msi.com/Motherboard/support/970-GAMING.html#down-driver
You can use a USB stick from another computer or use a C.D or something, but you have to install those drivers.
If you can't do this, you can try uninstalling the current driver through device manager and allow windows to update it automatically.
