I just installed Crysis3 on my pc with this spec:
- i5 3570K no OCing
- Motherboard AsRock z77 Xtreme 4
- GPU Visiontek Radeon HD7970
- 16 GB RAM Samsung DDR3 SDRAM MV-3V4G3/US no OC
- Windows 7/64 ultimate
- 1GB HDD Seagate
- AMD Catalyst 14.4
- PSU Cooler Master RS850 Silent Pro 850W
- CPU Cooler Thermaltake Water 2.0 Pro

the problem is after installing Crysis 3, I only get max 20 fps, average 10-12 fps and that's on all LOW setting.
I've tried to OC the cpu to 4 GHZ using AsRock software, and OC 7970 from standard to 1050/1525 but there's no improvement at all.
I am confused.
What is wrong with my system?
Can anybody please help?

Thank you,

Hi guys, thanks for trying to help. Yes, I was using monitoring software too.
But, finally I found the solution after watching this video from youtube.
He has different problem but his solution solves my problem too.

So what happen is apparently "Disabling Origin In Game" is the answer to my problem.
This what I did:
- Open Origin
- Click Origin tab on the upper left
- Click Application Setting
- Select Origin In Game tab
- Uncheck the box that say Enable Origin In Game

I've tested it several time by restarting the pc and play Crysis 3 several time with that box check and uncheck.
And every time it's checked it gives me the same problem.
And when unchecked, the game plays smoothly.

Hi herrwizo,
The temperature is not even rising that much from normal. I didn't even hear my water cooler fan spinning any faster.
I've updated the PSU.

What's interesting is, after my first post here, I uninstalled and reinstall the game and it works great when I played it.
But that's it. That's the only time I can play it.
When I tried to play it again the next day, it became even slower. I got less than 10 fps on the menu page. And when I tried to play the game, it took forever to even show a frame and finally crashed.
Since then I've uninstalled and reinstall the game for 3 more times and still the same problem.
Can anybody please help?

herrwizo is right. You might be experiencing cpu/gpu throttling due to overheating. Your fans not ramping up might even mean they're not automatically increasing or decreasing speeds due to manually being set to a certain value, thus not cooling properly.

Exact numbers will help at ruling out this option or at confirming it...

By OC ing my Visiontek HD7970, I can get 47-62 fps at very high setting, SMAA Medium 2Tx

So glad that finally I can play this normally.
Thanks for all the help and hopefully this solution can help others too.

Solution
i have a i5-4670k oc @ 4.2ghz 8gb ram and a palit jetstream GTX 7704gb and i only get 45fps on max but that game is un-optimised on pc i know people with dual titans that cant get stable fps

Well, if you're in "for teh lulz", I've heard this silly rumor about Crytek and his playerbase.
- Crysis 1 was an awesome game, yet the community ached to achieve stable FPS on ultra settings, and only top-tier video cards would do that.
- On this basis, they created Crysis 2 with a much lighter engine and removed some of the heaviest eye-candy (like complex flora physics), yet the community whined that even medium-end or high-end video cards could run the game at decent detail levels and framerates, so their 1.5k$ ready for the new Crysis was wasted (console ports are partly guilty for this).
- And so Crysis 3 was made with a improved engine than its predecessor, but was made to be heavier on purpose, due to the feedback received from Crysis 2.

I honestly don't believe the whole thing myself, but should it be true...it's quite funny, although a bit childish 😛

Crysis 1 was PC only for a rather long time, even now it counts as a benchmark for GPUs.

Crysis 2 was a bad consoleport, bad optimized for PC. In the leaked beta, it even said "press start" in the main screen, even though Crytek always claimed they developed it for the PC first, then ported to console.

Crysis 3 was better, but at that time the trust of the community into the game and Crytek was too low, so the game sold rather bad.

Crysis 2/3 both had an imbalanced multiplayer, but Crytek never finished fixing all those bugs and imba stuff. When Crysis 2 got the 1.9 patch, they officially announced that they were happy with the current state of the game and dropped support.
Similary it happened with Crysis 3.
