This sort of visual gameplay is what im looking to achieve, and im wondering how far im off it.

Specs;

Gfx card: Gigabyte HD 7970
CPU: Fx-8350 (black? No idea if that makes a difference)
Cooler: Hyper 212 Evo
Mobo: Sabertooth 990fx.

More info, i live in australia so the rooms ambient temperature can be rather hot.

I also dont have a 120hz screen, this intends to be one of the purchases I make to help achieve this sort of gameplay. (Any advice as to the best bang for your buck 120hz monitor is also appreciated)

Right now aside from the glaring issue of the lack of a 120hz screen the other big issue I feel like im facing is temperature and just plain wether the FX-8350 can deliver that sort of FPS. (Or wether even my card can?)

Currently my 8350 is throttling under any heavy gameplay, battlefield instantly boots it over 62C and it starts to take its toll so im looking at better cooling options? Or if i need a whole new processor/cooler completely?

I understand that the rigs that these sort of players are running would be insane compared to mine, but from my understanding my card/CPU is not a bad combo. Aside from the glaring screen/heat issues, am I really a whole new set of parts off?

Or would simply upgrading my cooling/screen be enough?

Edit: If you need anymore info just ask.

even though it looks that smooth you cant really achieve it, youtube compresses everything and makes everything look very smooth, for example look at bf4 running at 30 fps on youtube it will look smooth. for your CPU i would recommend putting new thermal paste on their and maybe buying a better CPU cooler

Both of these videos look similar to what my gameplay looks like, frankies in 1080 on youtube looks like silk. 30 fps and even 60fps on utube to me looks jagged compared to what any of the top end rigs on utube look like. (Frankie/jack/lvlcap/matimi0 etc.)

I do regularly apply thermal paste though! =)

clean out the fans from dust and everything, try wiping the thermal paste off with rubbing alcohol by applying it on a cloth than wipe the paste off, both of those videos look similar because there running at 30fps on youtube try running the bf4 60 fps one on a 60 fps video while the 30 on a normal 30 fps version and youll see

I dust out my system regularly and always apply on the paste clean, so thats no problem.

Also i wasnt saying that they look the same, to me i was saying i can easily see the difference between the 30, the 60 and then frankies, all on youtube.

yeah have you tried buying a new CPU?
