Please help me build my very first gaming PC, $1450 budget

Hello everyone I have decided to switch over from console, and build a PC. My budget is 1450, however that is including a monitor, windows, mouse, and keyboard. I would like to play at 1080p at a stable 90 fps or higher if possible for Star Wars Battlefront. Unless a 1440p 144hz monitor would fit in the budget but I doubt it will for that plus a graphics card to run that high. I will play more games, but since this one is coming out soon it will be a new game requiring more from the hardware, and will be my main game for a long time. Fps is very important to me more so than graphics. I love graphics, but actual performance comes first in my opinion. I doubt I'll mind turning down or off AA and things like it (sorry not very familiar with all the graphical enhancements on a PC) as I come from playing xbox 360 on a 50 inch TV, and for games like Battlefield 4 I would turn down the network smoothing factor to 10 percent. This made the game look worse, and things like staircases sometimes would be ramps until they loaded, but it made hitboxes, and hurtboxes better so you won't get shot around a corner, and your bullets will go more where you aimed. I'm not planning on overclocking as it doesn't seem worth for the price to get parts to overclock, and the labor, strain, and voided warranty of doing so. Unless someone can convince me it's worth it but I heard you will only get about 5 more fps, maybe 10, but that's with a big overclock. Also I'm not planning on crossfire or sli as I would rather upgrade to one of the new graphics cards next year which 2 new gpus would be overkill, unless you are able to fit that 1440p 144hz monitor which then I may consider, but this is a long time to wait, and a lot of money to spend for that. I don't have a super specific theme but wanted the build to look futuristic, Star Wars like, which is why I wanted the Cooler Master Storm Stryker as my case. This isn't definite, but would REALLY love it. If more money is required I know that I can always buy a SSD later, and a better mouse and keyboard later, if it's worth it to upgrade something else now. I know this is a very hard, time consuming question, but I thank you all in advance to whoever helps me. It will be much appreciated.

$1450 should be plenty to get you started. If you have a flexible budget - an extra $150 will get you an i7, 16GB of RAM and a GTX 980TI - that's pretty much the sweet spot for gaming right now.

The 1450 is including a mouse, keyboard, windows, and a monitor. I'm not really sure what to get on those either. Also I said I didn't want to overclock unless it was super worth it which doesn't seem to be the case. For that money I could just upgrade the graphics card. Not to mention the case I said I liked is only 10 more than what you have listed.

That hybrid HDD is pretty cool thanks for pointing that out. I still don't think it's worth it to overclock. I could drop the i5 6600k down to a 6500 or 6600, the 6600 being to 215, but was recently on sale for 205, and comes with a fan and heatsink. Also the Asus pro gaming h170 is 129 but was going for 119, so that's a total of 90 dollars assuming the non discounted prices. Add 40 to that and now I have the msi 980 going for 442 right now.

I thought you're Star Wars theme build was based on that case you've picked, which is black/white?
Not overclocking, then you can go with a lock Core i5, but you're not saving too much where it can be put towards a better gpu. Z170 isn't just for OCing, some features other chipset don't have is the ability to run SLI or CFX at x8/x8. 20 PCIe Gen 3 lanes from the chipset so there is plenty to go around, when you see the need to add a nvme drive, and ram can go beyond 2133MHz.
Forgot ram in that build, changed some parts and added ram.

Hybrid HDs aren't going to do much for your system's performance that an SSD won't handle. After 7200 RPM there's nothing else but an SSD to increase load times, then there's the fancier PCI SSDs and M2 SSDs. But really, for load times, you want an SSD over a hard drive.

If your budget includes monitor and peripherals that's fine, but you don't have to get the good ones right away. Get some cheap ones to start with (a CM Storm should suffice) and then get the good peripherals later on when you can afford a nice mechanical keyboard and mouse.

Maybe try this - it's possible to get Skylake on a budget without sacrificing:

All I meant was futuristic looking to resemble Star Wars, and that was the best case I found that would do that. If you're looking for a case with a black / white theme, try the NZXT H440 in white/black or the Phanteks Enthoo Pro in white, both are very solid cases, and both are $50 cheaper than the Storm Stryker.

IMO it's pointless to buy with upgrading in mind. It may seem like a good idea in the short run, in the long run you wind up spending twice, or in some cases 3 times as much.
