Hi,

I'm Eyrand. I saved up some money recently to build myself a decent gaming computer that can tackle modern games. I've been sucking in a lot of information for the past week trying to decide which exact components I'm going to be putting in my build.

Please note that I live in South America, where 1 USD is several times my national currency and therefore what is cheap to you might not be the case for me.

I will NOT be dealing with video editing, renders or any intense workload on this computer other than gaming, so the CPU I chose was the Ryzen 3 3200g. It's the cheapest out of all the processors I looked at. The Ryzen 5 2600 or 3600 are beyond my budget. The 3100 or 3300X can't be found in my country, and bringing them from abroad would just cost me more overall. I have not considered Intel.

My options for the GPU are the following:

AMD
  1. AMD Radeon RX 570 4GB DDR5 - https://www.asus.com/co/Graphics-Cards/ROG-STRIX-RX570-O4G-GAMING/
  2. AMD Radeon RX 580 4GB DDR5 - Open to suggestions here, there are many brands (Sapphire Pulse, MSI, etc) at pretty much the same price. Slightly more expensive than the 570 but still affordable.
Nvidia
  1. MSI GeForce 1650GTX OC Ventus XS DDR6 - https://latam.msi.com/Graphics-card/GeForce-GTX-1650-D6-VENTUS-XS-OC
  2. MSI GeForce 1650GTX Gaming X DDR6 - https://www.msi.com/Graphics-card/GeForce-GTX-1650-D6-GAMING-X
Is the DDR6 jump from the AMD DDR5 cards what I should look the most at? I can afford any of the aforementioned GPU's so pretty please help me decide.

I very much appreciate your time and attention. Virtual hugs.

Hi @Eyrand

1st off, a big warm welcome to the forums!

2nd, Yes to GDDR6. It's better. Here's a quick video and here too.

In regards to the GPU's, the 580 is faster than the 1650 which is slower than the 570, so the 580 is the best bet. Is a 1660 possible where you are at?

What store do you use to buy tech? If we knew that, we might be able to look around some and see if there is an even better deal for you. Also whats your absolute max budget that you have "right now" to spend?

The Ryzen 3 3200g. is a good solid APU. Please list out the rest of the specs for your PC. Namely, the RAM, mobo & PSU. Please be as exact as possible.

Again, welcome to the forums! :)

Going by your financial situation, I'd ALMOST tell you to just scratch the RX 570 & 580 right off the list; you likely have a rather cheap psu, and Nvidia cards are less likely to 'whine' with a cheapo power solution.
The reason I don't tell you to flat out forget about 'em is because both are better(performance) than the GTX 1650. It's the 1650 Super you should look to instead - but if it's out of the budget, then not much to do about it...

RX 570 is what I'm currently leaning towards.
I need to know the make and model of the psu before recommending the RX 580 instead.

I haven't bought anything! Thank you all very much for the replies, I'm just putting it down on paper first while checking the total cost.

The build so far is going like this:
  1. Fractal Design Focus G Black (Cheapest case I could find with great ventilation).
  2. Generic fan for exhaust on the back.
  3. Gygabite B450M-H motherboard -https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/B450M-DS3H-rev-10#kf - Currently trying to find a better B450.
  4. Ryzen 3 3200g CPU.
  5. HyperX Fury 8 GB DDR4 3000MHz (Board I linked takes up to 2900)
  6. 600 W certified 80P WHT power supply. Maybe I could get away with less and save some bucks.
  7. 1 TB HDD (Will try to purchase a SSD or MS2 in the future).

Thank you for the warm welcome. The 1660 is out of budget atm, it's cheaper on amazon but the delivery and taxes skyrocket the price.

I honestly am also leaning towards that one RX570 rog strix, it just has that "won't let you down" feeling to it :tearsofjoy:. Please check the following RX 580 options though!

For the 580, the options I find nationally are:
  1. https://www.sapphiretech.com/en/consumer/pulse-rx-580-4g-g5
  2. https://www.xfxforce.com/gpus/amd-radeon-tm-rx-580-gts-xxx-edition-8gb-3 (8GB instead of 4GB for around the same price).
  3. https://www.msi.com/Graphics-card/Radeon-RX-580-ARMOR-8G-OC (Also around the same price as all the above).
  4. https://www.msi.com/Graphics-card/Radeon-RX-580-ARMOR-MK2-8G-OC (Same as above but MK2 variant).
Those RX 580's are all DDR5, whereas the GTX 1650 gaming I linked is DDR6. That part confuses me. I'll be reading all day today about the components as well.

Thank you all for the time and attention!

As Phaaze88 said, if you can afford, get GTX1650 Super.
Gtx 1650 Super > RX580 > RX570 > Gtx 1650 (Non-Super)

Cpu: Ryzen 1600AF(12nm) OR Ryzen 3300X
Motherboard: Gigabyte B450M DS3H OR MSI B450M PRO-M2 MAX
Ram: GeiL DDR4 16GB (2x8GB) 3000MHz EVO POTENZA OR GeiL DDR4 16GB (2x8GB) 3000MHz EVO POTENZA
Storage: Seagate 1TB Barracuda 64MB SATA 6GB/s OR WD 1TB BLUE 64MB SATA 6.0GB/s
Power supply: Cooler Master MWE 550W 80 Plus White
Gpu: Asrock RX 570 4GB Phantom Gaming D OR MSI RX 570 4GB GDDR5 ARMOR OC OR Zotac GeForce GTX 1650 SUPER 4GB GDDR6 Twin Fan OR Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1650 SUPER 4GB GDDR6 OC
Chassis: AEROCOOL AERO-800 GRAY ATX OR AEROCOOL AERO-500 WINDOW WHITE

1)Cpu and motherboard: the 3300X + Pro-M2 MAX is the better combo, but if this is too much, then step it down to the 1600AF and the Gigabyte board.
I can't guarantee the 3300X + Gigabyte board combo would work, as that cpu is only supported on its more recent bios versions. If you were to get the Gigabyte one with an older bios, you'd be screwed.

2)Ram: gotta be dual channel, mate. No buts.
You could even get dual channel 2133mhz if it would allow you to squeeze it in, as the higher frequencies don't matter as much with lower end gpus.

3)Power supply: Really would prefer you not go lower than the one listed... but if it can't be helped, the following might be found for even lower:
Corsair CX-M, 550 or higher
Corsair CV650 only
be quiet! System Power U9, 500 or higher
EVGA BQ, 500 or higher

4)Gpu: Yeah, I know. Not much difference here, other than availability.
The site(CompraGamer) I'm checking pricing for, the cheapest 1650 Supers might be out of your comfort zone.
Just forget about the RX 580. That thing doesn't get along well with cheap psus.

5)Chassis: The Fractal Focus G isn't listed at all, so I hope the ones I posted or at least close in price...
