Specs:
Ryzen 7 1800X 3.6GHz
MSI - B350 TOMAHAWK ATX AM4
G.Skill - Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3200
Samsung - 960 PRO 512GB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive
SeaSonic - FOCUS Plus Gold 650W 80+ Gold
1070 TI GTX (planned video card currently gonna run my old 960)

Originally I wanted these:
Noctua - NH-D15 SE-AM4
Fractal Design - Meshify C ATX Mid Tower Case

Case has max cpu cooler allowance of 172 mm
Noctua is 165 MM

Ram is 42MM tall. I'm assuming i need to raise the front fan from noctua by 8mm which makes the cooler 173mm making it 1mm too tall for the case.

I have no idea how exact these measurements are in a real world setting with the motherboard. Should i be safe and just go with a different cooler or case?

Thanks for the response. Yes primary function will be for be for editing videos using Redcine-X Pro 64 bit (for 4k) and Adobe Suite for everything else. Secondary will be for gaming/streaming.

There is another case i found that has a 180mm clearance (Rosewill Cullinan ATX case) which I can fall back to if needed. I do like the rosewill, but rather get the Fractal.

I had no idea that PCPartPicker was actually that credible in spotting fit issues/compatibility issues. Good to know.
