My Lenovo Ideapad Z710 i7 laptop is dead and I cannot locate a replacement motherboard.
I want to either locate a schematic, which I absolutely cannot find even by contacting Lenovo, or find a replacement mobo at a price I can afford and from somewhere I can trust.
The only ones I have been able to find are from China and they look questionable.
I ordered boards from China before and find that you have a 50% of success.
The board is DUMBO2
My other option is to trace the power start-up circuit on the board.
I am pretty good with Electronic repair but having trouble with this because I can't seem to trace what pin of what IC the Power button goes to. A pin on the power board connector goes to Gnd when you press power but I cant find anywhere where gnd is getting toggled- maybe due to a short so its always at Gnd??
I think the problem was caused by the power jack having wires detached due to loose jack, I re-soldered the wires and it worked for a week . There's a blue wire on the center pin of the power connector which I connected to +, later to find out it should be connected to nothing or possibly to GND thru a resistor. Maybe connecting that to + killed the power circuit.
Is there anyone that would be able to help me if I send some detailed pics of the board and show some measured voltages on the MosFets etc?
I have another post here with some pics
