Does your road you live on affect your WiFi speed? I’m constantly asking my parents to get better WiFi, but they say this is the best we can get in the area. Is this true? If not how can I improve it? I’m getting 20mbps download next to router.

I’m wireless on bt home hub 5 I think it is. :)

You may be asking 2 different questions here.

Interior WiFi, vs what is the actual "plan" and type you get from the ISP. Which may or may not be "WiFi".

Ask your parents exactly what type and speed you pay the ISP for.
Without knowing that....we have no idea how to suggest anything.

Back when people would use DSL the top end for DSL was 6.0Mbps. I once lived at a place that could only get 1.5Mbps. They eventually bumped my speed up to 3.0, but there was something in the apt complex that prevented the full 6.0. The same might be true here. As suggested above you need to figure out what you are paying for, what you are getting from the ISP, what the router/wifi is supplying. Way more info is needed before you can figure out what needs to be done.
