Please help me. Windows 8.1 apps minimize when opened.

When i open applications it minimize into the taskbar. I checked the firewall thinking it may be blocking the application im trying to open and the apps' files aren't even there. Please help me identify the cause of the problem. Thank you.

Apps that aren't set as default such as internet explorer wont open as full screen off the start, instead will be applications off of the Desktop. To prevent this, set programs to default rather than another app as follows; Start - Apps - PC settings - Search and Apps - Defaults


Also, a bit of a obvious point but worth a try, if its a touchscreen give it a wipe!
