Please help me with my Wifi

I just bought a gaming PC and a monitor and for some reason it won't pick up my ethernet or my wifi even though my ethernet is pluged in the my wifi is right down the hall. Please tell me if i need to buy something extra or i'm just doing something wrong.

Does your PC have a wireless adapter? Go to the Device Manager and see if there are any yellow cautions showing. It's possible that drivers might not have been installed.
