I just finished building my PC today and when I turn it on every thing starts working and then it shuts off repeatedly. One time I tried it and then it turned on but then there was no signal to my monitor... I reset my MOBO with the reset switch and it continues to do that same on off thing no matter how much I turn it off and on.

My PC specs:

To me it seems that the PSU could be cutting out. The PSU you bought seems to be pretty reasonable, but you may have just got a faulty one.

You could make sure all the connections are secure. You could also try another lead into the PSU.

You could try it on another system. But really there is no other way of checking the PSU unless you send it back (or unless you have some expensive PSU diagnostic system).

If you have another PSU, or if you know someone you can borrow one from to test it on your system then that would be great.

It may not even be the PSU, but I just think it's more likely to be this than any other component based on what you've said.

Have you made sure that everything is plugged in properly?

This sometimes happens if you forget to plug the [strike]4-pin[/strike] into the motherboard, I believe.

EDIT: On that motherboard, it is an 8-pin, not a 4-pin.

I thought it was just supposed to boot up to the BIOS, and then you installed the windows and then the drivers from there

you need to set what drive it's supposed to boot to.

If the system isnt completing post, its impossible to set a boot device.

then you did something wrong. get your booklet out and see how your wiring is. make sure ram is in right slots. all power to appropriate places.

maybe reset cmos. this one of those auto overclock boards with the big buttons on it? maybe you hit one?

you can also pull your video card and boot to onboard video for the time being. install card later.
