So I upgraded my processor and my temps are really high! When I play bf3 the temps can reach 80 and almost 90. I have an athlon 64 x2 5600+ Brisbane. I upgraded from a athlon 64 x2 3800+(65W). I use arctic silver 5 thermal compound. My idle temps are around 35/45

pretty normal considering you are using old cpu's. it is struggling to play bf3 so it needs to utilized the cores 100% which in turn generates more heat.

Well with my old CPU the temps never went near 80 playing bf3

Well with my old CPU the temps never went near 80 playing bf3

i am actually more surprised that you can run bf3. both of them. no offense.
