Please help, PC restarts while playing games... I putt in a new mobo. so it cant be that.. I did download occt and ran a test for an hour no issues at all on psu, also ran becnhmark on gtx680 no issues.. also running speccy and no over heating issues either. temp is running at 30 to 40 on everything..

Sometimes it doesnt restart at all and sometimes it restarts 5 times in a row.

PC Specs: i5 (2500) 2nd Gen 3.30ghz
Gtx 680 Nvidia
OS:windows 8.1

are u getting blue screen error while the restarts or 3 beeps from he system ???if not then the ram should be fine 4 gb ram is not that bad its a little low for current games 6 gb is recommended for modern games and 8 gb ram is a good choice....less ram doesn't makes a pc restart while gaming if you are running out of ram the game will be laggy and the pc will get slow....
i think its the psu .......BTW what is the PSU you have not mentioned it...gtx 680 requires 38 amps @12+ volt rail and a minimum of 550 watt of psu ....

Hi, the PSU is a huntkey 700w so ye, pc was running fine for about an hour then as soon as i went into csgo insta restart... i want to stab my pc right now, also im not getting any bsod or beeps its a solid restart no error code...

These are the temps my stuff is running at

and this is the error code from the event logs:

Event 41- Kernel Power
The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.

and i downloaded bluescreenviewer but nothing shows up in bluescreenviewer

Event 41- Kernel Power may cause due to .........
outdated video drivers
corrupted registry files
incompatible 3rd party software on your pc
a virus or malware....
so its best to do a fresh install of the windows......

This is a fresh install of windows 8.1 i installed windows about week and a half ago... drivers up to date for card and everything... I see a lot of people having this problem they bought new motherboards and still had problem new hard drive and same problem psu and that fixed it for some of them and for some i did not.. i also get the kernel error : kernel power event 55

test your ram with mem test your cpu with prime 95 for an hour the GPU with furmark for 20 - 30 min do this individually and see if the restarts occurs while doing any of these tests....,

Tested the rem no issue with that, i will run a test with prime and etc will report back in hour

card temp went to like 100+ so pc restarted ran test at 1920 so is that normal for it to restart or should i be worried?

when im in game the cards temp is at 33 to 40 max... i ran that prime 95 test for bout 40 min and no restart yet... is there a way to test my power supply??

no its normal their is some fault with the card replace it if u have the warranty ..... i think the heat sinks thermal paste of the card has dried or there is a manufacturing defect..

no problem i am not an native English speaker myself .....and yes i cannot say its 100% the card but i will say i am 80% sure that the card is the culprit ....

damn any way i can no for sure?? im going to take my pc in tomorrow so other people can run tests on it i will tell them to test the card and the psu seeing as the cpu is working fine
