Seems OK. Had a i3 540 and it was very good. Can be overclocked.

Id say just get a good graphics card and you'll be fine for gaming For something like battlefield 3 you'll need something better than an I3 for a solid framerate but it'll still be plenty playable. My old build had a core 2 duo and it could handle Battlefield 3 at like 30-40 fps. Not that good but its not unplayable.

Don't look over the fact that the H67 (or any 6 series, for that matter) mobo is LGA1155, while the i3 540 is LGA1156. You need to get a LGA1156 mobo if you want to use the i3 540. I would just suggest going with the i3 2100/2120 and stay with that mobo.

Hes talking about the Coolermaster V8, and yeah hes right. In my opinion that money is best invested elsewhere.

Still not compatible with the i3 540. You'll have to go with a 5 series (H55/P55 etc.) board for that. I still recommend just going with the i3 2100 or 2120 and staying with the original board that you chose. That Z68 board would be overkill for the 2100/2120.

Absolutely. The i3 2100/2120 is plenty fast enough for daily use and most games, and in any case it wouldn't be the mobo that holds you back.

For light gaming, yes. It won't allow you to play at 1080p with maxed out settings, but with a lower resolution and probably medium quality, or possibly high (not Ultra) quality, in some cases, it should be fine.

for you: get a socket 1155 mobo. and a i3-2100
