pls help, why my pentium dual core e6500 cant be install in my motherboard?my motherboard socket lga775 same as pentium dual core e6500 but why it do not match??
Yes i noticed that. It is one of the reasons i did not recommend it. I think you need to upgrade your entire system. You could probably get a a lot more power from a cheap ddr2 or ddr 3 setup for less then 100 dollars on ebay
Just an example. By todays standard this is a turtle...very slow. It is however better then what you have currently. So if you have very little money...
I should also mention that for only a few 100 dollars you could make a huge jump over your current broken setup.
Not a lot of information to go on... Knowing your motherboard model would help verify it is compatible with the E6500 just to eliminate a simple misunderstanding.
Only thing which comes to mind is whether you've actually placed the processor in correctly. There tends to be an arrow in the corner of a CPU and the socket to let you know how they should fit.
When you have it installed go to the tab that says Mainboard. You can find the manufacturer and make of the board there.
My thought is you do not have the correct bios installed for that cpu. Once you know the make and model tell us. We can then see if we can find an updated bios for the board. If we can i am sure one of us can walk you through how to install the new bios.
Addition: I am guessing we already know it is a Hewlett Packard or Compaq computer. Still having the exact name and model number would be a great help.
finding a bios for that is like searching for a needle in a haystack. I actually found 2. However the product while close was not an exact match. The product is so old that either it is no longer in the HP archives or you gave me the wrong product numbers.
