Question Please Help Motherboard 128max for Orchestral Music

I'm trying to find a motherboard to build a slave PC for orchestral music with:
128max ram (8 slots)
1usbc port
Estimate budget for whole pc USS1200
For CPU i5-6900 or equivalent
Master computer: Macbook pro i9 16gb ram)
I saw these mobos:
ASUS Intel ROG STRIX X299-E seems to have lots of bad reviews (not reliable)
ASUS Intel ROG STRIX X299-XE (might be a little over my budget)
I can't find more options. Would you please suggest more options. I'm open to sugestions for the other parts too.

If that computer will not need fancy GPU, you can look at some server motherboards as well.

Thanks for your coment Alabalcho. I'm stuck now because the motherboards I could find with max 128, 8 memory slots, at least 1USB - C - are x299 and, of course they are more expensive and compatible cpus too. I guess I'll have no option than paying more.
