Short version: I bought an EK 240 basic AIO and some noctua fans to upgrade the CPU/general cooling and acoustics of my rig. It doesn't fit top mounted and I need a different case. Recommendations? I want to stick with top mount for various reasons and the total depth of the fans+radiator is about 54mm. Ideally it wouldn't be overlapping the board at all.

Long version: I was using a Corsair 275R airflow which I like overall but it just doesn't have the clearance in the roof (about 2.5cm to the top motherboard standoffs) and was hitting both the ram and the taller parts of the top left of the motherboard. I tried front mount but you should avoid tubes up on the rad (

) and tubes down it was either gonna get in the way of the of the GPU or not reach due to the pipes. This plus not wanting my GPU hotter than absolutely necessary (for stable overclocks) means front mount is not something I want to do.

So after a long night of trial and error and stress I spent a while researching cases and settled on the fractal design meshify c. Maybe not the best decision I've ever made but it was reasonably priced, had more in the roof than the Corsair, and looked good enough aesthetically. I got this case today and even though it definitely has more in the roof this was still only between 4-5cm and the rad/fans were just barely in the way of my memory again, there was about 2mm of obstruction :'(

So that's where I'm at. This is like day 3 of trying to get that cooler / fan upgrade done and I need to make the right next move. I'd love some input from people for top mount radiator case recommendations. I'm thinking full tower needs to happen now, no more space constraints! I really like the EK AIO especially now that I have it in my hands so I want to stick with it for now. I know 240mm on a full tower would be a slightly odd choice but I can always upgrade to a 360mm later / fit some more fans around it.

Thanks for any help!

If you narrow down by cases that support 280mm rads in the top you likely won't encounter any mobo height restrictions like the Meshify C.

Certainly more of a "brute force" approach requiring little/no research admittedly.

I need a different case
some nicer options:
be quiet! Silent Base 802,
Fractal Design Vector RS,
Lian Li Lancool II series,
Phanteks Eclipse P360 series

using a site like Newegg you can easily enter your search options in their left-side panel.
Cases:
Radiator Options,
Top; Up to ***mm.

and then compare the results' max radiator/fan thickness

never really liked this or any of the newer Corsair designs but hopefully it fits your needs and offers some good system-wide performance over the next few years at least.

good luck!
Yeah the front grill not the sexiest pattern but the colourway along with my grey / light grey noctua redux fans I think will be an interesting look. I'll see if I can post a picture tomorrow once it's built :)
