Question Please Help. NVMe SSD Not detected after clone or fresh install

Hi, I have a Sony VAIO SVP13212SGBI that shipped with a Samsung MZ-HPU128T 128GB M.2 SSD. I would like to upgrade it to a bigger drive and have purchased a Crucial P2 500GB NVMe SSD. The computer recognizes the new drive but after cloning it wont boot. I even tried a clean install but after first reboot i get an error saying drive isnt detected. does this have anything to do with the PCI-e being 2.0 x 4 and not 3.0 x 4?

Thanks I think I have actually figured out the issue. It seems this laptop may not actually support an NVMe SSD despite recognizing it. As the Samsung MZ-HPU128T 128GB I think is a SATA and not NVMe despite having only one notch Vs the normal 2 notches on most SATA M.2
