Please help to pick cooling system

Hello all,

This is what I purchased so far (based on deals that I found):

Proco: Intel 8600K
Case: Fractal Design R5
PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA 650 G2 220-G2-0650-Y1 80+ GOLD 650W Fully Modular EVGA ECO Mode
RAM: G.SKILL TridentZ Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 3200 (PC4 25600) Intel Z170 Platform / Intel X99 Platform Desktop Memory Model F4-3200C16D-16GTZB

This is what I would like to buy to complete the rig:

Mobo: Gigabyte AORUS Gaming 7
SSD: Samsung 960 EVO 250Gb m.2
GPU: I will keep my RX480 for now but will upgrade later once the new NVIDIA cards will come out.
Cooling system for the 8600K: Corsair Hydro Series H60

Any advice/comment please? I don't think I can go wrong with the AORUS Gaming 7.

However, I have big doubts for the Hydro Series H60? Does anyone have some experience with it with a 8600K and a Fractal Design R5?

I have the very similar fractal design r4 case. I use a Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO CPU Cooler. It's dead quiet, and keeps things very cool with an i5-4690K. Case airflow is great, and CPU temp as I type this (not a huge load on the CPU) is 30C.

I also have a small PC with Corsair hydro h100i water cooling. It's louder and (for me ) less trustworthy. I worry more about the pump failing or the tubing clogging then I worry about the Hyper 212.

I'm sure the cooling you specified will work. I'd go air. Good luck either way.

Thanks tsnor! I was looking at the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO as you were answering, and yes, I think I will sleep better by not using a water cooling system.

It also looks like I can do some mild overclocking with the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO.

Any comment on the Mobo or SSD by any chance? I think the rig is well balanced (except for GPU, which I will change early next year when new NVIDIA cards come out).

The SSD is mainstream and should be great. I don't know the MB, so can't help there. Congrats on bagging an i5-8600K. Agree you can OC it with the hyper 212, especially given the great airflow in the R5.
