I have a FX 8370 CPU and a Radeon 5450 Graphics card, and every game I play is in the 10-20fps. I play GTA IV and it doesn't go higher than 20, Fallout 3 as well, and Resident Evil 6 too. I tested drying light and I get around 15fps. I know the graphics card isn't the best but I don't undertsand why old games run so bad as well.

Solution

1. Make sure your GPU drivers are up to date

2. Activate "Tripple Buffering" in the GPU settings. That could help

3. Run troubleshooter on devices

Hope these tips help. 😀

Excuse my ignorance but how can I do that? I just built this Pc and I am still learning about it

Are you using windows 7 or 8?
Tripple buffering buffering setting are in game.

Also, your Gpu is really bad for gaming, sorry to say this. Your processor is amazing, but your GPU is locking its full limits. If I was in your shoes, I would sell the gpu, and get a new r9 290 for around $210. Hope this helps m8.

I hate to break this to you but that graphics card is.... not that great. Old games run poorly because they are optimized bad. But those games you listed aren't terribly old. Newer games will generally run better but demand more performance. If you really want more frames a more powerful graphics card is a must.

I am using Windows 8.1 and yes I've been wanting to get an R9 290 for a while but this graphics card was free with the CPU.

Not to be of a bother but do you know of any games I could play on this current set up, I should get a new card but I have to use this for a while.

Counter Strike GO, best game ever. You should definitely be able to run that.
