Please help with this

Not sure if this is the right category but I posted this before with no help.

So about 3 months now, every time my screen saver comes on, monitors go to sleep, or I restart my pc when I pull it back up, its slightly grey or dull. I open my nvidia control panel, adjust ANY slider, and it goes back to full brightness.

Its not dark but its slighly grey or less bright and it only happens when my scxreen saver comes on, my monitors shut off, or when I start up the pc.

I think this had to do with a windows update but the system is

iBUYPOWER - Desktop - Intel Core i7 - 16GB Memory - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 - 1TB Hard Drive + 240GB Solid State Drive

Not sure if its from windows, nvidia or the monitor. The monitor is a samsung 28 UHD 4k

First thing I'd do is uninstall the screen saver. If that doesn't do it, remove/uninstall the gfx card and run off the iGPU for a while to see if the problem is gone.
