PLEASE HELP > XP INSTALLATION ISSUES < PLEASE HELP

Hi, desperately need help. i built my system with following specs and when i go to install xp i get to the point where it says 39 min remaining and my pc turns itself off. please help!


Specs:
Mobo: Gigabyte Ma78g-ds3h
CPU: Amd X2 6000 3.1ghz
PSU: iON 2+ 450 watts
Optical Drive: Sony Sata OEM 20x dvd
Ram: Kingston 2gb ddr800

your big problem will be lack of a hard drive


but your small problem is probably that you will have to enter bios and disable AHCI and enable native IDE mode for the sata ports you have the ethereal hard drive plugged in to

haha, thanks, will try that. i do have a hdd. 500gb sata samsung drive. just forgot to mension it

BIOS sees the hard drive?
and its a SATA drive ?

AHCI is set to disabled ?

If you score 3 yes's on those questions , then try another hard drive

If your using a copy of XP try a different one. Burn it slower or use better media.

With AHCI enabled XP Setup won't even see any SATA HDD, unless you slipstream the AHCI driver into the XP CD or load it with a floppy
