Please assist, i want to turn a dell optiplex 7010 (BIG BOX - 3.4GHZ) into a gaming pc - the GPU i would like to use is a EVGA GTX 1050 ti 4gb do i need put in a more powerful power supply or can i use the existing one - new to computers don't know what to do

I5 CPU 3.4GHZ
8GB RAM

The problem is not the size of the PSU, it's the quality. What wattage is it per chance anyway?

Typically the Dell OEM PSUs are very poor quality - if it is one of their poor quality ones, then I would avoid upgrading until the PSU is upgraded, as a poor quality PSU can cause instability, and also risk damage to the rest of your components - and the last thing we'd want you to do is buy new components for a bad PSU to take them out.

Avoid that PSU like the plague!
Never go cheap on a PSU!

Minimum one could recommend that's usually the most budget friendly is a CX 2017 model.

It depends which 7010 you got, and if it's proprietory, you should look in your PC itself or in the manual - if it is standardised ATX, then yet it will be fine.

However Dell OEM often make proprietory gear so that it can't be easily upgraded.
