Please hlp with strange problem

My monitor will randomly go black while playing games. Happens 3 or 4 times a week, but only while playing games. The pc needs to be restarted to get it to turn back on. When it goes black though the pc still works normal. Sound is still working as i can hear the game, so the monitor is the only thing that seems to be affected. The pc is a dell xps 8700 about 1 year old. I have not upgraded or done anything to it. There is a radeon r9 270 in it. The psu that came with it is around 435 watts i believe. Small but has been working fine although the first one quit working 6 months ago and they put a new one in. Seems like it would not be the monitor as it only does it while gaming. Otherwise it works fine. But i'm trying it on a different pc to rule it out. Also i have my pc to never go into sleep mode so it's not that.

What kind of monitor do you have? It could be a PSU issue but it could also be a monitor issue as well.

It's a LG flatron w2753v 27 inch. About 6 years old now.

Without having your system in front of me things like this can be difficult to diagnose. What it sounds like to me is your PSU is unable to handle your GPU. I would look at replacing your PSU with something better.
