I recently installed a new motherboard/processor and have came along with the screen that says "please insert boot media in selected boot device" off of post. I do have a hardrive with windows 7 already installed

Check the boot order in the BIOS. Your boot drive should be first on the list.

If you're trying to use the original drive, with a new motherboard and CPU, you will probably run into other issues.

But it should at least make the attempt.

my bios is also ver y glitchy and i have found no answers to that problem yet

Then you almost certainly need a new copy of Windows. That original OS is OEM, and the license is tied to the original motherboard.

You can't fix two problems at the same time. Get the BIOS fixed, then move on.

when you say pre built do you mean computer that was bought made with all components or custom computer with windows already?
