please insert disk, while using USB to try and install XP?

I have keep getting an error while trying to install XP using a flash drive, I used rufus to set it up, and it starts the installer and loads the setup, but quickly goes straight to something like "couldn't find the cd or we weren't able to verify you have a vaild windows cd, please insert cd containing (xp, 2000, 98, etc)

Any help? Btw, I own XP MC. I havent started this laptop up in almost 7 years and would really like to get it going again. I no longer have the disk though.

im going to try and do it using wintoflash, will post results with or without success, sorry for triple post btw.

Bump, I'm having this issue right now. Does anybody know how to fix this?
