Hello,

Just got my $800 Asus PQ279Q from best buy and noticed the glow in the top right, and bottom corners. Top left corner appears to be fine.

If anyone can enlighten me on how normal this is I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

I don't think you will find another of the same model with noticeably less bleed. You may need to switch to another brand all together, although at the time I purchased mine, there was no other alternative that offered such a fast gaming ips display at 1440p
Yes that's backlight bleed. I have the exact same monitor, I do also have something similar. Its something that unavoidable with IPS technology ASUS uses. Honestly, its not noticeable in real life applications or games, and can only be seen on a black screen in a dark room. I don't know about you, but I didn't but the monitor to appreciate a black screen in a dark room.

Also if you google your issue, there will be hundreds of posts complaining about this same "issue"

Thanks oczdude8.

I was aware it was a common problem with this model but I was more curious about how bad people thought my bleeding was compared to others. Should I pull a RMA? only thing is I wouldn't have any monitor to game on while I wait for returns ugh. I have a Dell S2719dg also and I was comparing the two...however, return policy on best buy is up soon so I need to make a decision.

The Asus is clearly the better picture after comparing both - however, dell is known for quality and Asus apparently is not.
