I have an FX-6300 running on a Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3P and I have no problems whatsoever. I got the motherboard for only $70 and no bottlenecking or anything. Motherboards don't usually determine how good your rig will perform in a game. It mostly depends on what GPU. What games will you be playing? I have an AMD Radeon R9 270X that runs Battlefield 4 Ultra at smooth framerates with my FX-6300. It was a really cheap rig, yet pretty powerful.

Off topic: I'm very curious what you consider "smooth framerates" when you are playing Battlefeild 4 on Ultra settings.

This below shows what your card can do roughly in Battlefeild 4 and this is paired with a much better CPU - Intel Core i7-4770K @ 4.2 GHz. I'd be surprised if you can run it with anything higher than 35-40 FPS on Ultra.

If you switch the graphics API to Mantle, you get a great FPS boost. AMD cards utilize the Mantle API better than Nvidia cards. I switched the API from DirectX to Mantle and it became even smoother. Even if you don't find 50+ FPS enjoyable, you can bump it down to high, which still looks amazing. I'm saying that the price/performance ratio of this card is phenomenal. I got the card for 150 dollars, which is great.

I'm not saying it's a bad system especially for its price, but saying that with 6300 and 270x you can play BF4 on Ultra and now even pulling numbers like 50+ FPS is just plain not true. Mantle gives in the BEST case scenario about 9-10% FPS increase which from 35-40 fps would go to 38-44 and this is not considering FPS drops you get in situations with loads of enemies around where you would probably dip to 18-20 FPS.

It's a good mid range system and it's worth its money but it's not suited for playing on Ultra settings if you don't want to be playing with 30-40 FPS, that's all.

I believe he may be playing with no AA. When people benchmark with ultra, they usually use atleast 4xAA.
I also do not believe that 50fps+ is possible with his set up with ultra settings. With AA off and high motion blur...it could be possible but even then, I'm not convinced lol
