Question Please power down and connect the pcie power cable for this card?

i recently bought a asus strix gtx 1060 card and plugged it in with a 8 pin to 6+2
into my modular corsair 650rm psu i have a 970a-g43 msi mother board with 16 gbs of ram now either im plugging it in wrong or somthing is wrong could i please get some help or a diagram or vidio to watch that will help me instal correctly many thanks in advance

is a Modular psu. check the cable on the psu side?

i ensured both ends were secured and it still comes up with the same message

On the PSU side, is it connected to a port labelled PCIE?
What is the model of the power supply you have?

Did the connectors fit easily into the holes or did you force them?
If you forced them, then you've connected it wrong as they should just glide in with little effort
A lot of people force the wrong connectors in
