Previously I had a MSI GTX 970 me100 up and running in my pc.

just bought another identical card for SLI.... plugged it in, put the bridge on and got the following message... "please power down and connect the pcie power cable for this graphics card"

both cards light up and the fans run so i know they are getting power? (both power cables are plugged into each 6pin/8pin

I have am 850w Antec PSU which should be more than sufficient for these efficient cards.

System...
i7-3770
16gig corsair ram
GTX 970 gaming 100me SLI Gpus
850w psu
128 ssd / 1tb hdd

Any tips/help?

Thanks

Have you checked that both cards have both their 6 pin AND 8 pin securely plugged in? By that I mean pushed in far enough that the clip locks? Also check that the same is true at the PSU end if the PSU is modular. Btw, what is the make/model of the PSU?

If all the connections appear to be secure, I would try each card individually in the 1st PCIe x16 slot to verify that the individual card(s) are OK.
