Please recommend a high-quality fully modular 1000W power supply with a single 12V rail and with at least a gold rated efficiency rating for around the $200 range.

You can get some used dell PSU's 1000-1400w gold in the 120-140$ range on ebay. They are atx 24pin, but they are bigger then atx standard body wise. If your just mining or have a custom case.

Yup and an 850W is more than fine for a 3080. I'm using this exact combo mildly overclocked and I have comfortable headroom with an 850W. Paying nearly double to go from 850 to 1000 only makes sense if you need it and you haven't presented a use case that suggests you do.

As I said before, you don't have to go single rail. And you don't need 1000 W for a 3080. 750 W is enough and 850 W is more than enough.
Agreed. Ok I am running a cpu that takes much lower power than a 5900x but I’m running a 650w with my 3080. It does also depend which 3080.

Im running a 3700x (PBO on) and Gigabyte 3080 Gaming OC with a Seasonic 650w Prime Ultra Platinum. This setup has been running fine since Sep-20, I even tried some overclocking of the gpu but decided the tiny gain wasn’t worth the extra heat and fan noise. Under gaming load the system doesn’t seem to go over 450w and under stress testing the highest I saw was 554w. These measurements wouldn’t show any transient spikes but my high quality 650w has held up well. For peace of mind I can see getting a 750w or 850w but going to 1000w just seems excessive. NVidia’s 750w recommendation was when running a 10900k.
