Hello. I'd like to build a PC that is good for gaming and programming, along with some other miscellaneous tasks. My badget is 500 euros.

If you could recommend me a complete build (without monitor, keyboard, mouse and other peripherals) and a build with no OS that would be great.

Sorry for making another thread about PC Builds. Thanks.

This is the best that I can do right now. Be on the lookout for additional new GPU's which may be less expensive, AMD RX 460 & 470, nVidia GTX 1060.

Well, i am gonna go to a university this year (Computer Science/Informatics), so i do not really know what software i am gonna use, not even what programming language i personally want to focus on. I just need a build that can handle the things i've already stated with a budget of 500 euros. Thanks for the info btw, i didn't really know that.

Thanks for the build. I would like to ask you a few things (and also i would like to overclock btw).
1. Is the AMD FX 6300 not as good as the Intel Core i3 6100?
2. I was thinking maybe the EVGA GTX 960 may be a better option instead of the R9 380, even though it is a bit more expensive.
3. Isn't a 430 W Power Supply sufficient? Just curious.
4. Since i would like to overclock, what would you recommend for cooling?

If you don't have the time to answer, that's fine. Thank you for your time and thank you for recommending this build. :)

The i3-6100 is by far the superior processor, with the only thing that the FX beats it on is heavily multi-threaded workloads, and even then it's not by much. The 380 will outperform a 960 by a small amount, with the somewhat tweaked 380x outperforming the 4gb 960. If you could squeeze the extra funds the RX480 is launching very soon, and it will be both. Unfortunately you won't really be able to do any overclocking on this sort of budget short of buying used parts. The cheapest current generation Intel CPU that can actually overclock is the i5-6600k, which retails for 240euro, so pretty much half the budget. When you factor in the much higher cost for a Z series motherboard you won't have the money left for pretty much any of the other components you need

That is disappointing. Maybe i will wait for a couple of months to gain a small amount of money and try to purchase the RX480, i am not entirely sure though. Thank you for providing me those info, it seems it was a good idea to actually ask those questions. Thanks again :)

As already stated. Here are some comparisons:

The FX chipset is end of life and has no upgrade path.

The R9 380 is a bit better than the GTX 960. Look for comparisons on youtube. Also be on the lookout for the new GTX 1060, AMD RX 470 and RX 460.

The R9 380 needs at least 500W. 520W is sufficient for any of the newer high efficiency GPU's including the GTX 1080.

As noted, you'll have to get the i5 6500K to overclock. Be on the lookout for the new Zen AMD CPU's.
