I like the smooth surface of A4 paper but unfortunately the surface area is too small and I have to use up a couple of A4 sheets everyday as my hands sweat. Hard mats aren't available in shops here in my country so would be great if you can tell from your personal experience how they compare to A4 paper surface, whether they feel as smooth :) The shops in my country only have the Razer goliathus and Steelseries qck which i don't mind buying for the sake of getting a larger area to move the mouse on but they do feel a bit slower than an A4 paper surface so hesitating to see if i can get a more suitable hard mat off ebay based on what i learn here :)

Thanks in advance for any replies 😀

I personally own 2 Steelseries QcK+, Razer Goliathus(speed edition's), Logitech MW3 edition mouse pads and they are smooth as silk. You may be the odd number of folks that can feel a bit of drag on the pad found from the etching on the feet of the mouse that can cause drag/resistance. The simplest thing to do for that is to bump up the sensitivity of the mouse's pointer in your OS or your peripheral software suite.

Can you please state a budget, a preferred site for purchase and your location? :)

Using Mionix Ensis 320 aluminum mouse surface myself. Very pleased with it after 2 yrs or so, though it will scratch shortly after first use. Glides very smoothly. Using with my Logitech Proteus Core G502. Before this, was using an Icemat 2 glass pad. Smooth as well, but ate mouse feet after awhile.
