Be fair to the companies, hans_pcguy. They develop a product - sometimes good sometimes not - and it's their Intellectual Property, good or bad and they're entitled to protect it from pirates and fake copies. If you wrote a programme and wanted to be paid for it, how would you feel if it became offered on pirate sites?
We all have the freedom to use Opensource Operating Systems so anyone who doesn't want to pay Microsoft, Apple or Google for Windows, Mac or Android doesn't have to do so.
Anyway if "all the common citizens" are spying for "them", who's left to be the "us"? 😀
My "people are watching" phrase referred to folks who read Tom's and don't expect us to give advice on matters such as these. Part of our reputation is to show no bias one way or the other.
