So, i have an amd fx 8350 on asus m5a97 r2.0. i was trying to overclock it exactly as this video says http://
and i cant even get a steady 4.1 ghz with the stock voltage (1.3125v) when i increase just a little the voltage (1.350-1.380v) i can get stable at 4,4 ghz BUT i get very very hot temperatures and i stop the test at 2-3 minutes because the temps reach 70 at socket and 60 at the core. my cooler is a corsair h55 with two noctua fans in push pull. at 4 ghz i have 30 degrees idle and 55 at 100% with prime 95... plz tell me what i have to do, i want to reach 4,6-4,8 but the temps are way too high and i dont think that any cooler can handle them, is my chip broken from the factory or something? i need help (I HAVE INSTALL AND REINSTALL AGAIN AND AGAIN THE COOLER SO ITS VERY STEADY AND APPLY ARCTIC SILVER 5. I THINK I GET TOO HOT TEMPS FROM THIS LITTLE VOLTAGE AND ITS NOT NORMAL)

PC SPECS: AMD FX 8350 - 16 GB MUSHKIN 1600MHZ - CORSAIR CX 750 BRONZE 80% - ASUS M5A97 R2.0

so what do i have to do? give me a solution here plz, i want to cool things down

I would first turn the fans up to max on the radiator and see if you can keep the temps down enough that way.
Also, there is much better paste out there than arctic silver 5. I know the noctua paste is good and non-conductive. Also, I think ocz freeze is good? My thermal paste knowledge is a bit lacking.

Also, try and position a fan to cool the VRMs near the chip.

I wouldn't go all in one for cooling an FX cpu because air coolers would help cool the VRM. Some of the best high end air coolers are Noctua.

How much paste are you putting on?

i put thermal paste with the pee method, the right one... dude i dont think its the cooler... i have a corsair 500r case 2x 140mm fans exhausting , 2 x 120mm fans intake front, one 220mm intake at the right panel, and two noctua NF-P12 PWM at the corsair h55 i push and pull at the back exhausting... the temperatures grow dramatically just with a +0.050 volts in oc and this is not good.... i see people having their chips at 1,45-2,5 with h60's and h80's and have waaaay lower temps...

speed of fans is max at 1250 rpm and the pump works perfect, i can see from the 4ghz's temperatures 30 c idle and 55 at 100% load with prime 95... chipset temps. core temps are 12 idle and 44 @ 100% always at 4ghz... seems that the h55 works perfect.... im so confused... do you think i should try oc again and put a fan blowing straight at the vrms? ty for your answers :)

Blowing air at the VRMs will help their temp but not the core. Is your pump plugged into a fan header on the motherboard? Is that header set to full speed?

Also what are you using to read temps? Everyone recommends AMD overdrive. Also this might work
