Re: (Corsair Dominator TWIN2X2048-8500C5D 1066mhz ). If you are currently useing this memory module, then can you let me know how it has worked out for you? Please state any problems or good experiences with this ram. I will be putting them on a EVGA 680i motherboard. I was going to get the Corsair Dominator TWIN2X2048-9136C5D 1142mhz for $459 online, but thats a little expensive. I don't think i would actually see much of a performance increase with a difference of 76mhz. What do you say?

I do. I have ran these at 1111mhz at 2.2v without any problem with memtest for 3hrs and then decided to stop the test. I have not pushed them higher then that. I have pushed my e6600 to 3.84GHz but not stable but boots in windows under swiftech water cooling. I was running them at 1:1. I got my e6600 stable at 3.712GHz with 1:1 ratio.

I had no problems what so ever. They run a bit warm i have a fan blowing over them and it does the job. Get a Corsair fan they have those for 25 bucks at newegg or zipzoomfly. I am also using 680i chipset with asus striker extreme. Works like a charm.

I bet. Not only do they perform well they look cool too. I'm still unsure about my RAM but since I can definitely not afford $480 for RAM I'll be going with something like G.Skill or Crucial. Only with Micron D9's of course.

I havve that setup on an Asus Striker Extreme.

They are kinda slow compared to my 8888 CD4

I know because I have both 8500s and 8888s...

You have an MB which has a far more advanced memory controller compared to any 975 or 965 chipset. You are also one of the few who can change the comand rate to T1 and run a Core 2 Duo. You will be hard pushed to get T1 with low times and anything above 950Mhz with 8500s. But these settings are possilbe with 8888s.

I would get the 8888 CD4s if you can afford them....

BTW the ICs in these are micron revision D and they are binned quite high up only 1 in 100,000 chips make it this far (thus the price tag and limited supply).

When you get your g skills you had better cross your fingers.... that you are lucky enough to get that 1 in 100,000. Maybe better off buying lotto ticket...

Haha you must be kidding "slow" once more haha. In your dreams buddy.

I respect that. You must be rich.

8500 at $389 and 8888 at $610 you do the math. $221 differance is alot. Maybe you got the cash.

In conclusion 8500 is an overkill for today systems. Talk about 8888 is just too expensive and not worth the extra speed.
