----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I don't usually get up until 9 am on Sundays so this is the earliest as possible for me to help you with this suggestion.

The best you listed is the GTS 250 which i have on one of my computers. The XFX brand comes with a lifetime warranty which you will want if you are a gamer and pushing your card to its limits with heat as you game for countless hours into the wee hours of the dawn as I often do.

The GTS 250 is also a good balance for your system. Anything more powerful would be wasted since your CPU would not be able to drive it fast enough. Don't hesitate to ask more questions if you have any more. Lol.

If you can swing a few more bucks, the$155 category works but note that the proces of cards in thta category have gne up.....the 250 1 GB can be found for $130.

All of you answering are MISSING ONE THING OUT!! What limits to what graphics card he or she can get is the Power Supply Unit, the space in your case and whether you have enough expansion slots currently available. Before i can recommend you a graphics card, you would need to know what the brand, model, watts the power supply unit in your desktop computer is. Simply open up the case, at the back on the top there is a box and it should list the brand, model and watts. You don't have to include the table on the power supply unit. Note that the power supply unit labels are inside the case. Please reply back with your power supply unit and also measure from the expansion slots inside the case all the way until there is no more space so we know what size the card can fit in your case. Another thing is that we need to know your power supply unit, if it has a 6-pin PCI-E power connector which is required for most graphics cards in the $90-$150 range graphics cards. If it doesn't have one and yet your power supply unit still meets the required watts and +12v railings(I will find the +12v railings amps for you if you provide the power supply unit's brand, model and watts), then you are able to get a 2 molex to 6-pin pci-e power connector adapter.

I would suggest...
1> Please check first your power supply, especially the 12V rail. 9600GSO and higher mainstream Video Cards (HD4770 and up, 9600GT and up) requires at least 14A and higher, 12V rail and a PCIe power connector (or at least a 400w and higher true rated power supply) to have a stable system.

Otherwise you also need around $60 or more to upgrade you power supply.

2> I have an ECS MCP61S, it has the same chipset as yours, and can run the GTS 260 video card. However, using an HD5770, I needed to upgrade the bios firmware for this video card to run. I am not sure about your Asus board, but better to have the latest bios to make sure.

If you only plan to upgrade the video card then I would highly recommend the HD4670, without the need to upgrade your power supply. I have one installed (Sapphire HD4670 1gb graphics DDR) on a Pentium Dual Core 925 with MSI 945PL Neo mobo, using a 300watts power supply and runs very well on all games, including Crysis and COD4.
