Okay this is about a seagate external HDD i got like a month back
Tested with HDSentinel, both health and performance are reported as 100%, but certain non critical attribute values are degrading.
Values that are not perfect are:-
1.Throughput performance is at 58 (Should be 100 I guess?)
2.Drive Calibration Retry Count
3.Write Error Rate
4.Load Unload Retry Count

Why is my not even one month old HDD doing this? I had an exact same Seagate drive that died and has been with Seagate warranty service for a month. I still haven't got it back. Every time I call them, they tell me "we understand your problem but please bear with us, we'll mail you a replacement within just a few more days". Can't wait for a whole month without having a backup drive, so I purchased this new drive, and it's showing bad smart values. Since all these attributes are non-critical, Seagate says Warranty replacement isn't possible. Maybe I should give up on Seagate and switch completely to Western Digital. What do you guys say? Should I just trash this drive and purchase yet another? That would be my 3rd external HDD in 2 months! 🙁

I had an exact same Seagate drive that died and has been with Seagate warranty service for a month. I still haven't got it back. Every time I call them, they tell me "we understand your problem but please bear with us, we'll mail you a replacement within just a few more days". Can't wait for a whole month without having a backup drive, so I purchased this new drive, and it's showing bad smart values. Since all these attributes are non-critical, Seagate says Warranty replacement isn't possible. Maybe I should give up on Seagate and switch completely to Western Digital. What do you guys say? Should I just trash this drive and purchase yet another? That would be my 3rd external HDD in 2 months! 🙁
