I've recently bought an Asus Strix GTX 1080Ti and installed it on my 4 year old rig which has the specs as followed:
- Intel Core i7 4770 3.4Ghz (Turbo 3,9Ghz)
- 16Gb of DDR3 Ram 1600mhz
- 512GB Samsung EVO SSD/1TB HDD
- 750W Gold-rated Cooler Master PSU
Everybody is telling my rigs will drags the GTX1080ti and not worth it.
So I decided to post here to ask you guy should I spend a grand more to upgrade the CPU/RAM/Mobo combo.
I ran a log recording my play session with The Witcher 3 1.3.1, Ultra Settings, everything maxed out including Hairwork running at 4K and I was getting around 45-60fps.
Please take a look and give me advices thanks.
