OK guys I've been suffering for months looking for this. I've been everywhere from shops to asking people I know. I've gone through so many forums and this is what I ended up with.

CPU: AMD FX 4170 Bulldozer Series CPU - 4.2GHz Quad(4) Core, AM3+ Socket,12MB, HyperTran - R1503 phase2 online

Motherboard: MSI AMD 970A-G46 970 Chipset - R1025  simplicity online

Memory: CORSAIR XMS3 4GB - 1X4G DDR3-1600 CL9 - R419 sybaritic

Video Card: Sapphire AMD HD 7790 1024MB Graphics Card - PCI-E 3.0 - R1745 sybaritic

Power Supply: Corsair Builder Series CX430 V2 430W Power Supply - 80PLUS Certified - R438 sybaritic

Now I am literally praying that you guys will say it's OK because I'm tired and I need a computer now! I want to place the order in a couple of hours. Yes I've been through many forums and we all finalised on this. So please. I'm going to casually play MineCraft online and probably Skyrim you know the normal stuff. And I'm going to be developing.
Now I as a 14 shouldn't have gone through that trouble but I'm finally done.

N.B the Rxxx something is the price(rand is the currency) and the name is the shop

you're in the wrong forum subsection. this section doesnt get as many views and responses.

for builds try using hardware>systems

you would also do well to use a tool like pcpartspicker.com

also list your total budget in USD so that people can make recommendations.

this will ensure you get a good answer.

It's $500 and yes I've used partspicker.com and everything works with the compatibility filter on. Also is there someone who can move this thread because if I copy and paste it someone's going to get angry

i've used the report button... so it should get flagged to the mods. one of them should move it.

i'd have listed some advice but i'm not so familiar with amd anymore and i dont normally work in such a low budget.

OK when you said report button you actually scared me. Sorry it's so low, it's not like I want it to be low.

honestly the report button is the best way to get a thread moved as it shows up for all the mods i believe as a to-do item. the only other way would be if a mod happens to spot it or if we pmed a mod directly in which case it might not get handled as fast. dont worry it wasnt a bad report.

i completely understand how you have a low budget. i am just letting you know that i personally wont make any recommendations because i'm not as familiar with low budget builds or amd based builds.

Thanks! But just by looking at the names, what do you think? I chose AMD because if I chose Intel I'd be getting less performance to price. I have nothing against Intel it's just that when you're in a country like this, performance is key to every cent

CPU: AMD FX 4170 Bulldozer Series CPU - 4.2GHz Quad(4) Core, AM3+ Socket,12MB, HyperTran - R1503 phase2 online
---cpu socket matches motherboard socket. it has the same number of cores as most current intel chips but it lacks hyperthreading which honestly isnt really required in the first place. apparently the stock cpu cooler is loud so you may want an upgrade to an aftermarket one.

Motherboard: MSI AMD 970A-G46 970 Chipset - R1025 simplicity online
--- has onboard sound, usb3, uefi bios, sli support and various other goodies you may want. while not high end by far it should be good enough to get the job done.

Memory: CORSAIR XMS3 4GB - 1X4G DDR3-1600 CL9 - R419 sybaritic
---at minimum i would use 2x2gb sticks however i would like to see you use 2x4gb sticks instead so that you arent running on bare minimums. make sure you stick to the low profile stuff.

Video Card: Sapphire AMD HD 7790 1024MB Graphics Card - PCI-E 3.0 - R1745 sybaritic
---i would really suggest getting a better gpu such as a 7950 boost or gtx660ti however you should be able to play skyrm with the gpu you have picked out at 1080p. just remember that you may have issues playing anything newer than that or high demand games like crysis.

Power Supply: Corsair Builder Series CX430 V2 430W Power Supply - 80PLUS Certified - R438 sybaritic
---a psu calculation estimates a maximum load of 422w. since you really do not want to put much more than 80-85% load on a psu you should go with a 550w model (440w is 80%). i would also not use the low end builder series from corsair but the high end hx series. if that is not an option then go with a psu from xfx, seasonic or pcp&c.

hard drive:
---you forgot to add one. remember to budget accordingly. i would suggest a wd caviar black since they have 5 year warranties.

I have changed my mobo to : ASUS M5A78L-M LX V2 due to insufficient funds and I'm going to use this card http://www.rebeltech.co.za/index.php...oducts_id=7227. I really don't need anything more than this and I'm not going to get an SSD for a very long time.
Yes I am getting 2x4gb but a bit later. Also I don't need to buy a cd drive or hdd and hard drive because I already have them. I used about 5 of the most popular and recommended power calculators and they ended up on 300+~.
Sorry I tried replying before but I had Internet troubles

the power calculator i always use is http://www.extreme.outervision.com/psucalculatorlite.jsp and it comes out to 422w. remember you need to calculate for 100% usage which often is not the default settings. if you do not calculate for 100% you can run into some very major issues later on.

the processor you have picked out has a TDP of 125w the motherboard you selected says it supports up to a 95w cpu. i'm not used to seeing a maximum wattage listed so it comes across as unusual to me. definitely looks like a possible issue.

you can buy another stick of ram at a later time.

you do not need a ssd.

I used the same site you did and I got 375 watts and it actually recommended the same CPU. I used 100%

do what you wish. if you run into psu trouble down the road dont say i didnt warn you and recommend something a bit larger.

i add case fans, some perepherals and devices to the psu calc. i also use 2 ram sticks, 100% cpu tdp and 100% system load. keep in mind that this number is only an estimate and you want to assume it is too low of a total wattage instead of just right or too high. its better to have some additional headroom which a 550w would give you. you should always assume the calculation is on the low side and needs to be bumped up.

when it comes to psus its better to play it safe than to be sorry later. buying a bad brand of psu can take out your whole system if it fails and not buying a large enough psu can cause shutdowns under load which could also damage components. over the years i've seen countless examples of people trying to go with the absolute minimums or cheapest solutions and i've seen some of the horror stories.

the difference in cost between a 450 and 550 is also minimal.

I'm not going to add any peripherals, devices or fans, I also did add 2x ram but I think you've got a point

the case comes with fans. the psu calculator doesnt just assume you have a certain number, you need to select them.

perepherals include a mouse+keyboard, a headset or even charging your phone with the usb slot. while they do not draw much you never want to work with minimums.

at an absolute bare minimum i would go 500w. keep in mind your average usage will not draw anywhere close to that. my i7, gtx470 machine only draws about 177w (about as much as two light bulbs) while surfing the forum. my system can go up to about 550+ while under load. while this draws much more than your machine you can get a good idea of where i'm coming from.

its better to oversize by a bit than to undersize. you cant add performance later (well without buying a whole new part) just like if you cut a board too short you cannot add wood to it.

Alright

generally id stay with pc power & cooling, xfx, corsair hx series or seasonic power supplies in the 500-550w range.

you dont want rack mount.

not sure i trust thermaltake myself but its the right sized psu.

The price for the power supply I list first was from R400 to R500 and that's the only thing called I can afford. This power supply is the best and cheapest that I found
