I would like to build a home media server to play movies from different devices simultaneously (iPad, smartphones, laptop, firestick, etc). I was researching prices on 16TB drives and read that Enterprise drives will last longer than NAS drives and I came across this drive (
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=6698240) for $365 which seems unusual since I thought SAS drives were more expensive then their SATA counterparts. I have a proposed build below and I don't know much about SAS PCIe controller cards, but would like to determine if this would work and allow me to read data faster than the 6 GB/s limit of SATA.
