I am having problems getting the Router to Port Forward as per the instructions from Plex:

Server Mapping
Private xxx.xxx.1.204 : 32400 Public 184.186.86.40 : 32400 X Internet (Screen Copy)

I have Port Forward in the ASUS at port 32400 IP: 184.186.86.40 Protocol Both (TCP-UDP).
Don't have the 32400 in the Local Port, left that blank.

I have opened the port 32400 TCP in the Firewall and port 1900 UDP in the Firewall also, but no workie for me....frustrating to say the least.

Is it just the router, using DHCP or do I have to static the IP?

Help this Old Fart...LOL...

Hey there your screenshot did not upload!

In your router you should have 5 fields to fill in for port forwarding.
Service Name, Port Range, Local IP, Local Port, Protocol

Service Name can be anything.
Port Range should be 32400 (Whatever port you are using to access from the outside world)
Local IP should be the private IP address of your Plex Server so xxx.xxx.1.204
Local Port should be 32400
Protocol should be TCP

If you're still having troubles with this try manually setting what port Plex uses in the Settings (advanced) > Server > Remote Access area
Check the box to "Manually specify port" and enter a port number (for example 60123)
In your router change the field Port Range to whatever you manually set the port to on the Plex Server.

P.S. The machine hosting your Plex Server should have a static IP assigned to it so that your port forwarding rules don't just get ignored one day because the IP address of your server has changed.
