you get what you pay for. hdd's get you GB/$ and SSD's get you IO/$.
if you dont want IO/$ then dont complain about the price. stick with an HDD. the X25-M's are worth every penny.

Will I have to sell my first-born for it though?

Sorry, 128gb for $400 isn't worth it. I can deal with things opening a bit slow. If they come out with one for $100-$200 with noticeable performance gains, I might consider it. For now, that extra $200 could go towards a video card.

I don't know why you're getting thumbed down. That's a valid point.

Isn't every tech news site? Or all sites for that matter.

I honestly dont trust the Plextor name anymore. They lost their allure when they started shipping only Lite-on rebadged ODD's for their traditional inflated prices.

I wont be supprised if their new SSD's sre sold under a similar technique.

My old Plextor DVD-RW was fantastic, the native CD-G was the only thing that would copy Karaoke discs. I trashed 3 differant software programs and about a 100 CD-R's before I figured it was the burner.

@drwho1 - Otherwise stated, your out of the SSD market, period. Got it. I'm not being snarky here. You just have set a metric that HD's are just recently satisfying. And they have been around (widely for consumers) for what, 30 years? By the time you get what you ask for computers may not even resemble what we use today.
