Plextor px-880u useless since firmware update

Got a brand new px-880ue drive. Everything worked fine until I updated the firmware to the latest version. Got firmware from Plextor website. Now drive blinks a blue light nonstop and cannot read any discs at all.

Anybody know a solution? I'm trying to avoid a return.

Try contacting the manufacturer. They might be aware if there is anything else that can be done. Maybe you can flash another firmware version on it, if it is still recognized by your system.
Of course, it may be bricked, in which case you will have to return it. Sorry.
