pls help :(( gpu or processor upgrade? :'(

hi , can you help me ? im in a tight budget and i can only buy one component . I really dont know what should i upgrade first if my gpu or my proci first?
my build is amd a6 5400k , with gpu inno gt 220.
i can play dota 2 in low to mid , and bf3 and 4 to low . but i want to play more games like saint row the third which is still lag even in a low setting.

I'm thinking of upgrading my gpu from gt220 to Asus Gtx460 just for $50 but im afraid if it might not improve may computer gaming performance. so what do you suggest ? thank you in advance.

How much is your budget and what currency are we talking about? What resolution do you play at? The GTX 460 will be a good upgrade. If you can save more I would recommend something in the $100 range like a used GTX 660 or 760. If you can't save that much then unfortunately you aren't going to get a very enjoyable gaming experience. The Gtx 750ti is really the lowest end card I would recommend. It's a pretty solid entry level card that can run 1080p at low-medium settings and still give you 60fps when paired with a decent CPU.

Swapping the GPU's will be your best bet. The 460 will be quite an improvement over the GT 220, which isn't much better than the APU graphics. Upgrading the APU, even to an A10, wouldn't give as good results.

And I'm still stuck on a GTX 285 SLI set xD, uhm this really depends on how much cash cash you got. You can probably get your hands on a gtx 580$ for about 50-70$ though, and that's a big upgrade from the gt220 look around on eBay though, you might even get a 670

thank you for your quick reply, i have $72 savings equivalent to php 3,000( philippine peso ) and that's all i have, i search for a used gtx 660 and it cost around $139 ( php 6,500 ) , i think computer parts in our country is kinda more expensive 🙁

and another question what if i upgraded my proci to a8-6600k which is $65. do you think it can improve my gaming performance they said that a8 6600k is way better to my a6-5400k and gt 220 combined ? :/ thank you again 🙁

The choice to go with a graphics card upgrade over a processor is correct.. However, though you would get a decent increase in performance should you go with the Gtx460, I wouldn't - instead , I would continue to save until I can get a better graphics card and possible a processor.

thanks for the reply . yeah, i think that is the best thing i can do. but i want to play the saint row the third with a stable and smooth fps. even with a low setting that would be fine :S or a worth it upgrade if possible with the budget of $72:/

yes i search already but i think they didn't ship products to philippines . at it will cost more for the shipping fee :/
